The Story Behind Tend Legal
Our founding directors, Alistair and Shona Wells, started Tend Legal back in 2020. With the chaos of the pandemic happening, they noticed a real gap in the way most legal firms provided their services – in-person exclusive, slow, lots of physical paperwork, overly formal “legalese” that left clients with more questions than answers.
The traditional charging model of the hourly rate also led to price uncertainty, “over-lawyering” and a disincentive for lawyers to innovate.
The result was that many agencies, start-ups and scale-ups simply weren’t getting the legal advice and support they needed.
And so, Tend Legal was born. Our mission is simple – we’re here to provide a better, more human legal experience for businesses in any industry. As well as fixed-fee projects, we provide a seamless, subscription-based service for a fixed monthly fee which covers all the work we do each month. As a remote-first legal service provider, we also communicate and exchange documents digitally where possible, saving time and saving the planet.
